Long Island is home to a large population of Indians.

A lot of the Indian businesses in Long Island are concentrated in and around the city of Hicksville on Rt 107 and New Hyde Park (Hillside Ave).

There are Indian Jewelers, South and North Indian restaurants, Grocery Stores, Beauty Parlors, DVD Rentals, Mithai (sweets) Stores and Fashion boutiques in Hicksville.

A Hanuman Mandir nearby in Hempstead, a Gurdwara in Glen Cove and a Church in Hicksville cater to the religious needs of Indians in Long Island.

Lately, Bollywood movies are also being screened in a few theaters in Hicksville and Farmingdale.
